Day 1 | Drive across South Dakota to Badlands National Park. Relax in the evening colors. |

Day 2 | Tour the Badlands Visitor Center, Prairie Dog town, perhaps Sheep Mountain Table. Enjoy short (less than two hours) hikes in the Badlands. |

Day 3 | Hike around Sylvan Lake, or up Mt. Harney if you can! Enjoy a ride to French Creek Wilderness Area for a beautiful valley hike. A tour to this region wouldn't be complete without a stop at Mt. Rushmore National Monument. |

Day 4 | Descend into Wind Cave (a national monument) for a fascinating underground exploration. Drive the wildlife loop to see wild burros and bison. Tour Crazy Horse Memorial, including the Indian Museum of North America, and the Native American Cultural Center. |

Day 5 | Head to Wyoming today to explore the first US national monument, Devil's Tower. This stunning spire, made famous in the move, "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", was formed over 60 million years ago. A scenic nature trail around the base of the tower provides excellent views from several locations. |

Day 6 | Wind your way (by van) through the scenic Needles Highway. Then depart the Black Hills for Mitchell, SD. En route stop at famous Wall Drug. |

Day 7 | Say good-bye to your friends today and return home. |
