Cancellation and Insurance

Every year some of our customers must cancel their vacations at the last moment due to illness or accident. We are sad to see people lose the money they have saved for vacation so we strongly encourage you to protect your investment with one of the options below. Otherwise, if you cancel your tour less than 30 days before departure (60 days for cruises) no refunds will be given.

OPTION ONE:
Search Beyond Adventure Cancellation Credit Protection

We offer an in-house "cancellation credit protection" for only $29. (This option is not available for international, Hawaii, cruise, or due ranch vacations.) You may cancel your tour up to 4 pm Central time the day before departure by faxing or calling us your intent to cancel. You will not receive a cash refund, but the cost of the tour will be applied to another tour of your choosing (must depart within 12 months of original tour). This does not cover "no shows" or customers denied flights, cruises, etc due to lack of proper documentation. No medical coverage is provided. This does allow you to cancel for "change of mind", however and is less restrictive than traditional insurance coverage. If your tour included an airline ticket, the cost of the airline ticket is not covered and often has penalties imposed by the airline for any change. You can buy this coverage up to 30 days prior to tour departure OR at time of registration if you are registering less than 30 days before tour departure date. If you register and order this less than 30 days before tour departure you will not be covered until deposit is received.

OPTION TWO:
Travel Guard Insurance (or similar)

This travel insurance is available for any destination and includes emergency medical care, medical evaluation, lost luggage, travel delay expenses, and cancellation protection. If you cancel your tour you receive a cash refund from the insurance company, providing you cancel for covered reasons and provide documentation such as a doctor's letter. Acceptable reasons include illness or accident, family emergency, closure of airport or highways to airport. This does not cover cancellation because of change of job, change of mind, and similar. We recommend this especially for international tours since most public insurance does not cover you when you are traveling outside your home country. For example, if you are Canadian your public health insurance will not cover you outside of Canada, and if you are American your medical assistance does not cover you outside the US. The premium cost varies by tour price and age so call us for an exact price.  Pre-existing conditions are covered if you pay the insurance fee within 14 days of your initial trip deposit.  You may buy this type of cancellation insurance up to 24 hours before departure.  And it's easy! We complete the application for you and mail it to TravelGuard. All you need to do is tell us you want to purchase it!

NOTE: The cancellation credit protection and the "TravelGuard" insurance fee are non-refundable and are not transferable to another tour unless your tour is cancelled by Search Beyond Adventures.
