 Search Beyond Adventures Extra-Assistance options are designed for our travelers with disabilities who need a slower-paced tour for walkers or manual wheelchairs (but don’t need accessible vehicles or accommodations), or who need a higher staff ratio for supervision or living skills assistance. We provide a 1:2 staff to participant ratio (double our “regular” ratio) with this option. The number of manual wheelchairs we can accommodate are limited so please inform us if you will be bringing one.
We use our regular vehicles on these trips, so participants must be able to travel in vans or buses without wheelchair ramps or lifts. Vacationers needing wheelchair-lift equipped vehicles or wheelchair accessible lodging should register for the “Wheelers” option.
Select "Extra-Assistance available" in the "Tour Search" section to see all the tours available with this option. Or look for any of the tours with the cane symbol and add $50/day for most domestic (USA and Canada) tours; $80/day for international and Hawaii tours, or tours over Christmas day; $100/day for dude ranches and most cruises. Please note that for Hawaii and international tours you will ALSO be charged one-half the airline ticket cost of staff's airfare to the destination. These fees help offset the expenses of providing extra tour staff.

Search Beyond Adventures Wheelers Tours have a high staff to vacationer ratio (1:2) to assist with transferring, extra cares, or extra supervision. In addition we use wheelchair lift vans, so even folks using electric wheelchairs can be accommodated on these trips. Personal care attendants usually are not needed if you do not need a 1:1 ratio or specialized medical care. If you do bring an attendant, (s)he travels at a reduced fare--usually about 75% of the tour fee (ground cost). Accommodations have wheelchair accessible bathrooms, and all accommodations are double occupancy.
